How It Started (The Short Version)

In 2019 I started posting a photo of an item from my closet every couple of days to Instagram with a write up about its influence on myself and others. This was my way of paying homage to a legacy and heritage that built the other church I love to worship in - hunting, fishing, and living life outdoors.

I heard from many that a look at Camoretro's Instagram account brought back memories that were lost with a misplaced jacket. I then realized the opportunity in giving fellow enthusiasts the overdue chance of replacing their gear. These seams hold stories - with room for more - and could be made more accessible to those with a long-standing or newfound relationship with the outdoors. The web marketplace you know today, Camoretro.com, was built soon after this.

From the beginning Camoretro.com has offered a place for people to not only buy, but sell their unwanted outdoor goods. Nobody is asking you (or expects you) to sell grandpa’s jacket, but customers can use Camoretro to find and breathe a second life into the often excessive amounts of goods so many of us have.
This does three things in my mind:
1. Increases Accessibility and Convenience to Gear for Outdoor Enthusiasts
2. Fuels an Appreciation of Legacy / Heritage Products and Brands
3. Allows Sellers to Invest Their Profits Back into the Industry

So much has changed since the original Instagram post two years ago - but the goal of connecting people with the perfect piece of gear hasn’t. Camoretro.com offers you a convenient place to buy or sell outdoor goods on your time. As a buyer you no longer have to hope your Instagram message reaches me before someone else, your payments are secured, your orders insured, shipping information captured, and you spend your time on a platform that caters to your needs. Sellers have the convenience of listing their gear for free on a platform that reaches 50,000+ unique monthly visitors while not having to worry about keeping up with payment methods, scams, and shipping information.

If you have any questions about Camoretro.com please reach out. My hope is that this platform makes sense for everyone - if there’s anything I can change to help that be more true for you, please let me know.
